About Simpler Options

Simpler Options is an options trading service from Simpler Trading. The main feature of the service is the Trading Room, in which you’ll get access to market commentary and analysis from Simpler Trading’s professional options traders. In addition, Simpler Options comes with daily videos that recap the options market and highlight potential setups for the next day of trading. Simpler Options can be a very effective, hands-on way to improve your trading, but the service is expensive and requires quite a bit of dedication.

There are quite a few options trading services out there, from Weekly Windfalls to Bullseye Trades, so how does Simpler Options really measure up? Let’s take a closer look at this service from Simpler Trading in this review of Simpler Options.

Simpler Options Features

Trading Room

The heart of the Simpler Options service is the Trading Room. This is a webinar-style room that is led on a daily basis by one of Simpler Options’ professional traders. On a typical day, each trader will lead the Trading Room discussion for about an hour each, for a total of four to six hours of detailed market analysis each day.

Inside the Trading Room, the discussion leader will share a screen of the charts they are watching and walk traders through their technical analysis process. Importantly, while the experts will focus on individual companies that they are watching, Simpler Options is not a recommendation service. Rather, the goal is for the traders to exhibit their process and answer questions from the Trading Room so that you can develop your own effective options trading strategy.

Simpler Options Trading Room

The Trading Room is also a central location for traders using the Simpler Options service to meet and discuss strategies. There’s a chat box that is available at all times for asking questions and posting about successful trades. In addition, Simpler Options expert traders will post alerts to the Trading Room chat about upcoming webinars and to note buys and sells related to earlier discussions.

All daily Trading Room sessions are recorded. You can access the full archive of daily sessions going back more than two years.

Daily Videos

Like other services offered by Simpler Trading, such as Simpler Futures, Simpler Options also posts daily videos for members. These videos are typically 10-15 minutes long and cover several potential options trading setups. The daily videos are similar in content to the Trading room in that they involve a single professional trader sharing their screen and annotating charts to explain their analysis process. Often, these videos will follow up on setups that were discussed one or two days beforehand in the Trading Room.

Options Education

Simpler Options has a series of more than 80 videos that focus on specific topics within the world of options trading. The tutorials are diverse, covering exciting topics like how to use Bollinger Bands for options trading to more mundane, but important, things like how to enter conditional orders in ThinkorSwim. The videos also cover a variety of complex options trading strategies and go into detail on risk management techniques for these strategies.

Simpler Options Education

Most of the educational videos are short – less than 20 minutes – so it’s fairly reasonable to watch most of the ones that relate to your trading style over the course of a few weeks.

Simpler Options Differentiators

Simpler Options is one of the most hands-on ways to improve at options trading. Rather than simply providing recommendations or leaving you on your own to trade, Simpler Options puts you into a learning environment with professional traders. Throughout each trading day, you get to see a number of setups and learn about experts’ processed for identifying and evaluating setups. Most importantly, you get updates on how those setups have evolved and how trades have worked out.

If you prefer a more “hands-off” approach to options trading, check out our Motley Fool Options review. If you are interested in learning about options, Simpler Options could be a great fit for you.

What Type Of Trader Is Simpler Options Best For?

The Simpler Options system can be extremely time-consuming. You need to dedicate a number of hours each day to the Trading Room, not to mention the daily videos and educational videos. So, Simpler Options is generally only suitable for part-time or full-time options traders, not the occasional trader.

In addition, it’s important to consider what you want out of an options trading service. Simpler Options is designed to teach you how to trade options successfully rather than to simply point out potentially profitable setups and strategies. It takes significantly more work than a stock or options picking service, and you need to be willing to put in the work with this platform to get much out of it.

Pros

  • Trading Room is led by professional traders every day
  • More than 80 educational videos around options strategies
  • Daily videos to follow up on setups from the Trading Room
  • Interact with other options traders through the chat
  • Alerts about buys and sells for covered setups

Cons

  • Expensive monthly membership
  • Requires an enormous time commitment
