About Market Rebellion

Market Rebellion is an online trade ideas service that focuses on stocks, options, and cryptocurrency. This platform includes numerous services available for swing trading, options trading, long-term investing, and crypto trading. Market Rebellion’s trade ideas are relatively easy to follow, and most services include videos that explain the rationale behind new trades.

In addition to detailed trade ideas, subscribers get access to a members-only trading community, one-on-one coaching, and weekly webinars with the Market Rebellion team.

In our Market Rebellion review, we’ll take a closer look at some of the most popular trading services this platform offers and help you decide if Market Rebellion is right for you.

The Team Behind Market Rebellion

The Market Rebellion team is led by co-founders Jon Najarian, Pete Najarian, and Dirk Mueller-Ingrand and is supported by an experienced team of market analysts. With most of Market Rebellion’s services, traders will hear directly from Jon and Pete about new trade ideas or updates on how the past week of trading has gone.

Jon and Pete Najarian are both former professional floor traders on Wall Street and former executives at Mercury Trading, a market-making firm at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). Together, the brothers founded two companies called optionMONSTER (an options news service) and tradeMONSTER (an options trading platform) in 2005, which eventually sold to E*TRADE. Jon and Pete are especially focused on using unusual options activity to identify trade ideas, but they’re also excellent at explaining technical analysis within the Market Rebellion ecosystem.

It’s also worth highlighting CJ Reichel and Matt Montemayer, who lead Market Rebellion’s crypto trading room. In addition to picking crypto trades for Market Rebellion subscribers, both Reichel and Montemayer are advisors at an actively managed crypto hedge fund.

Market Rebellion Services

Market Rebellion has an extremely wide range of trading services available. Each service covers a different strategy or a different approach to trading. For example, there are services for short-term and medium-term swing trading, for monitoring unusual options activity, for long-term investing, and for issuing options to collect premiums.

For our review, we’ll focus on 4 of Market Rebellion’s most popular services: Unusual Options Activity Essential, Rebel Weekly, Oracle Essential, and Market Rebellion Crypto.

Unusual Options Activity (UOA) Essential

The UOA Essential service uses the proprietary “Heat Seeker” algorithm developed by Jon and Pete Najarian to track smart money movements. The algorithm identifies tickers that are experiencing unusual options activity, which is usually interpreted as a sign of institutional trading activity.

Market Rebellion UOA Essential

Subscribers get one new trade idea each week delivered via a live webinar each Tuesday. The webinar is recorded and available afterwards, along with a trade summary for traders who can’t make the session. The webinars also usually highlight a handful of other ticker symbols identified by the Heat Seeker algorithm, although these aren’t covered in depth.

Our team has reviewed over 200 services. These are our favorites:
๐Ÿ“ˆ  Best Day Trading Service

Each trade idea includes the ticker symbol, details about the level of unusual options activity, an entry price target, a suggested options trading strategy, price targets for the trade, and a stop loss level.

Market Rebellion UOA Essential Idea

While this service only includes one trade per week, the Market Rebellion team provides market alerts each day about open positions. These updates usually cover reducing positions when a profit target is reached, but there are occasionally suggestions to add to positions or updates on additional unusual option activity.

We like how simple this service is. The trade ideas are geared towards traders who are new to trading around unusual option activity, and you don’t need to be a guru to follow the webinars. Having just one new trade each week also makes it easier to manage trades, and the update posts help with this as well. For traders who want more action, there are usually several additional tickers mentioned in the weekly webinars.

Just keep in mind that this is far from a full-blown unusual options activity scanning platform. UOA Essential subscribers don’t get full access to the algorithm’s results – for that, you’ll need to upgrade to UOA Pro. Even then, you don’t get access to a raw unusual options activity feed like you do with services like Unusual Whales or Optionsonar.

  • Best for: Traders new to using unusual options activity
  • What traders get: 1 trade idea per week (via live webinar)
  • Pricing: $99 per month or $995 per year

Rebel Weekly

Rebel Weekly is a trading service for short-term swing trading strategies. The service includes a weekly write-up and accompanying video about two new momentum trades: one bullish and one bearish. Each trade comes with a trigger price, price targets, and stop loss levels.

Market Rebellion Rebel Weekly

One of the nice things about Rebel Weekly is that the trading ideas can be used to trade either stocks or options. For each idea, the analyst team suggests an options contract to consider.

Compared to some of Market Rebellion’s other services, Rebel Weekly is very straightforward and doesn’t require a lot of activity from traders. It’s somewhat similar to stock picking services like IBD Swing Trader or Gorilla Trades. The biggest difference is that Rebel Weekly’s videos offer in-depth chart analysis, so traders have an opportunity to learn how to identify breakouts and breakdowns.

  • Best for: Beginner swing traders
  • What traders get: 2 trade ideas per week
  • Pricing: $49 per month or $495 per year

Oracle Essential

Oracle Essential is a lot like Rebel Weekly, except that the trade ideas focus on medium-term swing trades. The service offers two weekly trade ideas, which can be traded using options contracts with an expiration one to two months away. An accompanying video breaks down the technical analysis behind these ideas, so traders understand the patterns and price targets that form the basis for each trade.

Market Rebellion Oracle Essential

One thing we like about Oracle Essential is that the service encourages traders to think critically about trades. Often, traders need to watch for a specific trigger before entering a new trade or use the service’s included checklist to determine if a trade is worthwhile. While some traders might prefer a simpler trade/don’t trade framework, Oracle Essential’s approach helps beginner traders learn how to evaluate ideas on their own.

  • Best for: Traders who want to swing trade with options
  • What traders get: 2 trade ideas per week
  • Pricing: $99 per month or $995 per year

Market Rebellion Crypto

Market Rebellion Crypto is, as the name suggests, focused on the crypto market rather than on the stock market. The service offers two new crypto trade ideas per week. However, to access those trade ideas, traders need to watch a webinar that’s often an hour or longer. There’s no summary provided, which makes the service somewhat less accessible.

Market Rebellion Crypto

Market Rebellion Crypto is quite a bit different from the other Market Rebellion services we’ve covered. Not only does it focus solely on cryptocurrencies, but the layout of the service on the Market Rebellion website is distinct.

Traders have access to a dashboard with crypto news updates as well as a crypto trading room where you can find technical charts and a community chat. Lead analysts CJ Reichel and Matt Montemayer are active in the chat, so traders have plenty of opportunities to ask questions. There’s also a daily video from Reichel, and Montemayer focused on market analysis and crypto insights.

Market Rebellion Crypto Trading Room

Whereas the other Market Rebellion services we covered allow traders to take a part-time approach, Market Rebellion Crypto is best-suited for full-time traders.

  • Best for: Aggressive crypto traders
  • What traders get: 2 trade ideas per week
  • Pricing: $49 per month or $492 per year (7-day trial for $7)

Who is Market Rebellion Best For?

Market Rebellion can be useful for a wide variety of traders, including options traders, swing traders, long-term investors, and crypto traders. Some of the services are geared towards beginners, while others are more suitable for experienced traders. Since Market Rebellion has so many different trading services, there’s something for everyone.

That said, Market Rebellion is ultimately designed for traders who want stock, options, and crypto picks handed to them. The platform doesn’t offer a lot of tools for finding your own trade ideas or conducting your own technical analysis. If your goal is to generate a lot of potential ideas and then evaluate them, you may be better off with a stock screener like Trade Ideas or a technical analysis platform like TrendSpider.

We think beginner traders stand to benefit the most from Market Rebellion because of the detailed videos and weekly market reports that are included with most services. The platform’s analysts do a great job of breaking down the technical rationale behind each trade, giving new traders an opportunity to learn from each pick.

How Does Market Rebellion Compare?

At the end of the day, Market Rebellion is essentially a stock, options, and crypto picking service. In that sense, the platform finds itself in a crowded field.

Market Rebellion’s unusual option activity services, including UOA Essential, are somewhat unique. There are a lot of different tools that can detect unusual options activity, including scanners like Unusual Whales, Optionsonar, and Market Chameleon. However, these scanners require traders to do all the legwork of identifying which trades are worth pursuing and identifying technical setups that support a trade. With UOA Essential (and UOA Pro and UOA Elite), Market Rebellion’s analysts sort out the best trading opportunities and present them to traders.

Market Rebellion’s swing trading services, on the other hand, are less distinct. Rebel Weekly and Oracle Essential have a lot in common with services like IBD Swing Trader, Gorilla Trades, and Mindful Trades. Since Market Rebellion doesn’t provide historical performance data, it’s hard to compare these services directly.

However, Market Rebellion is somewhat more expensive when considering you only get two trades per week, while these other services typically provide at least one trade per day. One advantage to Market Rebellion is that the included videos dive into technical analysis, giving new traders a chance to learn as they go.

Is Market Rebellion Worth It?

Market Rebellion is a high-quality platform led by experienced traders and analysts. It offers an extremely wide range of services, so there’s likely to be a service you’ll like no matter what your trading strategy. The platform’s prices are broadly in line with competitors, although it’s difficult to compare potential returns since Market Rebellion doesn’t provide information about past performance for any of its services.

Overall, whether Market Rebellion is worth it depends on what you need. If you’re after stock, options, or crypto picks, then Market Rebellion has a lot to offer. If you’re more interested in doing your own analysis and just need a base of ideas to start with, then Market Rebellion may not be the best option for you.ย
